10 Palestinians were wounded on Monday as Israeli troops opened fire on several demonstrators throwing stones at a West Bank checkpoint in Ramallah.
Ramallah area hospitals director Mohammed Eida said, “We have received six people, two of them wounded by live bullets, one in the stomach and the other in the neck.” He added that four more were injured and were treated near the Atara checkpoint.
The dozens of demonstrators were mostly students from Birzeit University. They were protesting about the Israeli’s moves in the annexed Arab east Jerusalem.
A spokeswoman for the Israeli military reported that one of Israeli’s troop members was wounded but did not comment on the military’s decision to use live rounds to disperse the protesters.
