Japan’s police agency says the death toll from the earthquake and tsunami two weeks ago has risen to more than 10,000, The Associated Press reports.
The National Police Agency also said Friday that more than 17,440 people are listed as missing.
The quake that hit Japan on March 11 measured 8.9 magnitude and recorded as one of the worst in the century.
