Beyonce was tonight’s biggest Grammy winner after bagging 6 Grammys, the most number of trophies for the night, including the Song of the Year award for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).
Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” was proclaimed Album of the Year.
Other multiple Grammy recipients were the Black Eyed Peas and Jay-Z, who won three apiece, Lady Gaga, Jason Mraz, and Michael Giacchino and A.R. Rahman for their works on the soundtracks of “Up” and “Slumdog Millionaire,” respectively.
Kings of Leon won Record of the Year for “Use Somebody.”
Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli sang a duet of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, a song that won the Record and Song of the Year awards at the 1971 Grammys.
Several big names in the music industry performed at tonight’s show including Pink, the Dave Matthews Band, Elton John and Bon Jovi.
