A suicide attack in a police headquarters in the south of Baghdad on Thursday killed at least 21 people.
The suicide car bomb incident happened before 7 in the morning in the Babil province capital of Hilla, which is 62 miles or 100 kilometers south of the capital.
Babil provincial council chairman Kadhim Majeed Toman said, “I believe today’s attack was revenge from al Qaeda after the killing of bin Laden in Pakistan.”
The car bomb had 150 kilograms of explosives in it and officials said the method of attack is similar to that of the al Qaeda in Iraq.
More than 75 people were wounded in the explosion.
