37 people were killed and about 100 were injured when two suicide bombers caused havoc at the Moscow metro trains on Monday.

The two suicide bombers were both female, and the incident happened during the rush hour.

Officials believe that the bombers were connected to the terrorist group located in the North Caucasus region of Russia. Head of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov said investigators found some evidence that will help them find who the real culprits are.

The first blast happened at around 8 in the morning (local time) at the Lubyanka station in Moscow. 45 minutes later, the second blast occured at the Park Kultury station.

United States President Barack Obama expressed his condolences to the victims of the bombing. He condemned the violent act and said he and the whole US is behind Russia in its fight against terrorism.
