The nominations for the 61st Emmy Awards has been officially disclosed by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in North Hollywood, California today.
The winners from the list, which consists of entries released within the period of June 1, 2008 to May 31, 2009, will be announced at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. E.T.
While the nominations always holds a few notable entries here and there, of especially keen interest is the NBC series 30 Rock, which garnered a total of 22 nominations in this year’s list – more than any other nominee has gotten in a single year ever – including Best Comedy Series, Best Comedy Actor for Alec Baldwin and Best Comedy Actress for Tina Fey.
The recently deceased Farrah Fawcett has also been posthumously nominated for Outstanding Nonfiction Special for Farrah’s Story, an NBC documentary highlighting her battle with cancer, to which she died of last June 25.
