7-year-old Kansas girl Isabelle Redford donates $15000 to charity

Isabelle Redford has raised over $15000 to build new homes for the people of Haiti. She has provided aid to C3 Missions and Global Orphan Project. She appeared on TV and named person of the week at ABC World News Tonight. She is only 7 years old.

Isabelle Redford grew up in Kansas. Her parents are Kevin and Kelly Redford.

Kevin and Kelly Redford participated in mission work in Haiti. After their trip last 2005, her parents explained what they do and encouraged Isabelle to do what she can to help them.

Isabelle started to make handmade gift cards, which she sold at $40 per box. She then began working with C3 Missions and the Global Orphans’ Project to speed up the process.

Through the sales of her artwork, homemade cards, toys, and baked goods, Isabelle raised the needed money and helped build an apartment complex. The six orphans and house mother named their new home as Isabelle Redford’s House of Hope.

Despite language barriers, Isabelle enjoys visiting Haiti and playing with the orphans.

Her parents Kevin and Kelly are proud of her. On their blog, they say, “Upon arrival at Mission of Hope, the staff took us down to see Isabelle’s home right away. We were greeted by all the children chanting ‘Isabelle, Isabelle, Isabelle, Isabelle.’”

Their blog can be found at http://artsfororphans.blogspot.com. Global Orphans’ Project’s website is at http://www.theglobalorphansproject.org.

I think this is pretty geat news to hear. I get so tired of listening to everything that ois not going right in the world because that is what they are focused on all the time. It's nice to finally sprinkle some magic over it all. It's most likely esier for a child to raise money because of the sympathy that adults have toward a child that knows how to act. I wonder if they were also using web promotion tactics online to reach that community or not, it is a new age.
