“Clueless” and “8-mile” star Brittany Murphy died in her Los Angeles home Sunday morning after undergoing a cardiac arrest.
The actress, who also formerly dated funny man Ashton Kutcher, was pronounced dead on arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. TMZ reports that the Murphy’s mother found her unconscious in the shower, and was already in full cardiac arrest when the paramedics came to their home.
Murphy became a household Hollywood name with movies such as “Clueless”, wherein she co-starred with Alicia Silverstone, “Uptown Girls”, and “Girl, Interrupted”, a movie she starred in with Angelina Jolie and Winona Ryder. She also provided the voice for the character Luanne for the tv show “King of the Hill”.
Murphy was married to British screenwriter Simon Monjack. They were married for two years before her untimely death.
Murphy’s ex boyfriend Ashton Kutcher also recently released a statement in his Twitter Account:
“2day the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out 2 Brittany’s family, her husband, & her amazing mother Sharon”
The LA police department are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the actress’s death.
