Former Vice President and 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore would not be facing a sexual harassment case.
Multnomah DA Michael Schrunk said there are a lot of problems with the case by alleged victim masseuse Molly Hagerty.
Points against the credibility of this case are: The supposed to be sexual assault happened in October 2006 when Hagerty did a three-hour massage on the former VP while he was in Portland on business. Hagerty first took her story to Portland Tribune in November 2008 but the newspaper didn’t publish it due to Hagerty’s credibility. Hagerty called the hotel management to thank them for the Gore referral with no mention of any sexual advances. The black trousers, which Hagerty kept in a vault, that she wore that night when the supposed abuse happened tested negative for the presence of any seminal fluid. She chose to give her version of events to the police only until 2009. Hagerty also failed a lie detector test.
Schrunk said that Hagerty’s statements are “contradictory to evidence, conflicting witness statements, credibility issues and lack of forensic evidence.”
