Alexander McQueen – British fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London apartment Thursday morning, according to a partner from public relations firm KCD. McQueen was 40 years old.

McQueen, who was best known for a number of controversial collections over recent decades, was reported as having been found dead in his home by KCD partner Ed Filipowski. According to initial investigations, McQueen apparently died of suicide. McQueen’s family has not made a statement regarding the incident as of yet, however.

McQueen had been known to lead a somewhat troubled personal life, which arguably cascaded into his work, for which he is known to be somewhat eccentric. McQueen used unorthodox materials such as animal bones, and made his models appear macabre on the runway, showcasing his works in an otherwise different light. His works, however, continued experiencing a somewhat healthy marketability.
