American Idol has really been somewhat exciting this season so far, with that thing about Alex Lambert, and then last night’s fiasco between Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell. Tonight, another American Idol contestant had to go home.
But that didn’t stop a bit of confrontation between Ryan and Simon again on tonight’s show.
“Want to get the eyeballing out of the way?” asked Cowell, referring to Ryan’s behavior with Michael Lynche last night. Ryan answered, “I just thought that you needed to be a bit more constructive with them.”
“Do you want my job?” Simon shot back, probably referring to the fact that this is to be his last season with American Idol. “Because [that] felt like an audition.”
They managed to smooth things eventually though, with Simon saying “We’re friend right? Just don’t ever do [that] again.”
Bottom three of tonight’s show were Paige Miles, Tim Urban and Lacey Brown. Unfortunately, by the end of the show, it was Lacey who had to go home on the night that many thought was her best performance yet.
“That’s OK, I had a blast,” says Lacey, who sang Ruby Tuesday for the night, after Simon confirmed that they wouldn’t be using their once-a-season privilege to save her.
