Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry is currently on life support in a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina after a car accident that stemmed from a domestic dispute, the police said.
The authorities told the Cincinnati Enquirer that the football player fell out of a pickup truck driven by Loleini Tonga, his fiancé on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the reports, Henry jumped into the rear of the truck as Tonga drove away. He fell out at some point and was found about half a mile away with “very serious” injuries.
“We are aware he was in an accident and that his injuries are very serious,” Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan told The Associated Press. “We are obviously staying in touch with the situation and are ready to offer whatever assistance we can.”
Henry suffered from a broken left forearm in November 8 during their game against Baltimore and was sidelined for the rest of the season.
Before his injury, he had two touchdowns and 12 catches for 236 yards, making him the fourth best Bengals receiver this season.
