The body of First Lady Maria Kaczynska was returned to Warsaw on Tuesday to lie in state next to that of her husband, Poland‘s President Lech Kaczynski.
Thousands of mourning people lined up at the Presidential Palace to pay their respects to their President and his First Lady.
The first couple and 94 other people died in a plane crash that happened in Saturday morning in western Russia. Authorities say that the accident was caused by human error.
The group was on its way to Russia to attend a tribute for the 20,000 Polish officers that were executed by the Soviet secret police in 1940.
A 7-day national mourning period has been declared in the whole country of Poland. The presidential couple will be buried near Pilsudski on Sunday.
