The remains of Morgan Harrington, a Virginia Tech student who was missing for months, is believed to be the skeletal remains discovered by David Bass, an Anchorage Farm owner, on Tuesday morning.
20-year-old Morgan was last seen at a Metallica concert in Charlottesville, VA in October. She reportedly stepped outside to smoke a cigarette and was not allowed to reenter the venue. She left some of her stuff inside.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Bass said, “I was feeding my cattle when I…looked down and saw what looked like a human skull.” He later told WTVR, “…my first thought was that it was Morgan Harrington.”
Steve Flaherty, the state superintendent, said they will conduct an autopsy to identify the remains. He added, “There is no readily available access to the area where the remains were found.
The farm is about 10 miles southwest of the concert venue, which was at the University of Virginia campus.
