Former Philadelphia Eagles RB Brian Westbrook has signed a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers on Monday.
An insider told ESPN that Westbrook’s contract is “worth $1.25 million guaranteed, with $1.25 million worth of incentives.”
In the past months, Westbrook had been visiting teams, looking for a job, after the Eagles cut him from the team last winter. He reportedly visited the Denver Broncos, Washington Redskins, and St. Louis Rams.
The 30-year-old Westbrook, who is also a two-time Pro Bowler, was drafted by the 49ers in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft and spent 8 years playing for the team. Last year, he suffered several injuries (concussions, chronic knee and ankle problems) which limited him to play in only 8 games.
