Actress Brittany Murphy’s autopsy results has been completed Monday afternoon. However, the said results will not be released until a slice of her brain undergoes further testing.
Murphy died Sunday morning due to cardiac arrest and was found lying on the bathroom floor on her L.A. home. She was pronounced dead on arrival when she was brought to L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Autopsy surgeons examining the actress’s body are currently still waiting for toxicology and neurological test results, which may take another five to six weeks to complete, thus delaying the release of the complete result of the autopsy.
It was reported that the said toxicology and neurological tests can ultimately explain the cause of her death.
TMZ also reports that the actress was exhibiting flu-like symptoms and was taking flu medication before she died.
In the meantime, the Los Angeles Police Department are still conducting their own investigations, focusing on the possibility that the actress may have died due to a prescription drug overdose.
Murphy earned her fame from making movies such as “Clueless”, “Girl, Interrupted”, “Uptown Girls” and “Just Married”, a romantic comedy that she starred in with her then-boyfriend Ashton Kutcher.
