Bryan Adams is going to be a dad.

The Canadian superstar, whose rise to fame includes hits such as “Summer Of ’69,” and “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You,” and his assistant, Alicia Grimaldi, are expecting their first child.

Adams first confirmed the news on Twitter, linking to an article titled, “Bryan Adams to become dad at 51.” He then released a statement saying, “Alicia Grimaldi and I are expecting a baby. She helped me start my foundation years ago and it looks like she’ll be running the family now. Thanks for your support and kind messages, we appreciate it greatly.”

Adams is currently promoting his 2010 album, “Bare Bones,” which features stripped down versions of some of his biggest hits and favorite songs.
