Carrie Underwood managed to bag the top music award from the Academy of Country Music Awards last Sunday. Underwood’s win is her second win of the annual award in a row.

“Thank you God, praise the Lord,” said Underwood on stage as she received her award. “Thank you country music, God bless you country music.”

Underwood received her first shot at fame just five years ago on American Idol, after which she managed to get a number of high-profile awards in such a short career, including awards for best new artist, best female vocalist and Entertainer of the Year, to all of which she also received a rather special Triple Crown Award. Underwood is the first female ever to win the Entertainer of the Year award twice.

Underwood’s win mirrors that of Taylor Swift’s when Swift managed to win Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Awards just last November.
