Actor Charlie Sheen has followed his wife Brooke Mueller and checked into a rehabilitation facility “as a preventive measure,” according to his publicist Stan Rosenfield.
The star of CBS’ “Two and a Half Men” will take a break from filming while he and his wife try to get their lives back on track after a violent confrontation last Christmas.
A few days ago, Mueller, Sheen’s third wife, entered rehab to seek treatment for substance abuse.
In a statement issued by Sheen’s publicist, the actor “has asked that his privacy be honored.”
CBS is behind Sheen all the way, saying that it supports the actor’s decision to voluntarily put himself in a treatment center. “We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter,” the network said.
Shooting for the television series would be temporarily placed on hold.
