2010 NHL Conference Finals – The Chicago Blackhawks find themselves face-to-face against the San Jose Sharks tonight at Game 2, as the 2010 NHL Western Conference Finals continues on.
The Chicago Blackhawks managed to score a somewhat surprising victory over the San Jose Sharks last Sunday, managing a very tight finishing lead of 2-1 on Game 1 of the NHL Western Conference Finals.
Very unexpected, considering that the Sharks command an arguable majority approval vote, and that the Blackhawks have themselves just come back full turn from a somewhat dismal performance this season.
But the Sharks may force a turnaround once again on tonight’s Game 2, as they admit that their Game 1 performance was somewhat substandard. The Sharks shot 45 against the Blackhawks’ 40, for example, proving that the Sharks actually had the majority of scoring chances.
“Getting those chances is one thing, capitalizing is another,” says Ryane Clowe. “With this group of guys and the amount of skill and the ability to score goals we have, if we get quality chances like that, we’ll put some of those in.” The Sharks figure that if they maintain the same level of play intensity, they can convert those scoring chances into actual hard-hitting goals.
