A picture of a 15-year-old girl, showing her topless and partially nude at her crotch area, has been circulated with the help of a legitimate iPhone application.

The picture was discovered in BeautyMeter, an iPhone application where users can view pictures of people, and give ratings on how they like different aspects of the person, like his/her clothes, face and body. BeautyMeter is a free application downloadable over the Apple App Store.

The girl is listed as being 15 years of age, and residing in the United States. Wired reports note that when the picture had been reported, it had already garnered approximately 5,000 ratings.

This incident puts Apple into the limelight, along with the difficulties that they face regarding confirmation of applications submitted through the App Store. The App Store currently services over 50,000 individual software pieces.

This has been reported as being similar to last week’s incident with HottestGirls, another application that was previously available over the App Store. The makers of the said application subsequently released an update that allowed users to browse through topless pictures of women on their iPhone.

HottestGirls has then been pulled out of the App Store.
