Despite legal trouble regarding the alleged beating of ex-girlfriend Rihanna, Chris Brown is continuing to make music waves, this time, with the help of hit songwriter and superstar Keri Hilson.

Hilson states that Brown contacted her some days ago for some help with music in his studio. Hilson’s cooperation with Brown will be, as she says, “the first project I’ve worked on as a songwriter in a while.”

The two have previous work history together, having performed a duet on “Superhuman“. Hilson also wrote the track “Young Love“, a single on Brown’s debut album.

On a comment regarding Brown’s current legal issues with singer Rihanna, Hilson shares that she thinks that Brown’s fans will stick with him even despite the troubled face rep.

“I always feel like if you’ve ever had a fan base, you’re really only one song away from appeasing that fan base,” Hilson said in closing, implying that fans are fans for the music, and not the personal lives of their idols.
