Melissa Rycroft, a former contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” and “Bachelor,” announced that she is pregnant with her husband Tye Strickland.

Rycroft and Strickland have been married six months and are happy to have a baby on the way. “It was a shock. We weren’t even trying. It’s the most wonderful surprise in the world,” she said.

In an interview with “Good Morning America” on Wednesday, she said, “Apparently Tye and I wanted to see how many life-changing events we could fit into one calendar year, from getting engaged, married, new job, and we are now pregnant.”

Rycroft, 27, has said that she is wishing for a baby boy while her husband is hoping for a girl.

The couple exchanged vows in December last year in Mexico, nine months after Rycroft and her ex-fiance “Bachelor” Jason Mesnick broke up.
