ABC has decided to wrap up its long-running series “Desperate Housewives” after eight seasons.

According to reports, the show will air its final episode in May 2012. However, media reps for the show have denied the news and said those were “all speculative at this point.”

Marc Cherry, the show creator, has already quit his post to focus on other projects but still remains to be a consultant until the series’ final season.

ABC will reportedly make an official announcement about the fate of the show on Sunday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills, California.
