Elizabeth Taylor’s family mourned the Hollywood legend in a small funeral service Thursday at a Southern California cemetery famous for being the final resting place of Hollywood celebrities, including her good friend Michael Jackson.
According to the Associated Press, about four dozen family members attended the service inside the Forest Lawn Cemetery, which started 15 minutes after its announced time in observance of Taylor’s wish that her funeral start late.
Taylor’s publicist added that she had even left instructions asking for the tardy start and for someone to announce, “She [Taylor] even wanted to be late for her own funeral.”
Taylor died early Wednesday of congestive heart failure at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she had been hospitalized for about six weeks.
