ESPN Producer Leah Siegel dies of breast cancer

Leah Siegel, an ESPN producer based in Dallas, Texas, has succumbed to breast cancer. She was 43.

She passed away at around 4:30 in the morning, said Eric Loehr, her husband.

Loehr posted on her blog on Monday, “Thank you everyone. The support over the last couple of years has been amazing. As Leah has enriched many people’s lives, I believe that her life was equally enriched.”

Siegel is an Emmy Award-winning producer and is also one of the first females to become one for ESPN.

In August 2008, Siegel, a mother of three, was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, shortly after giving birth to her third child. Her struggle with the disease was featured in a number of newspapers and she served as an inspiration to a lot of people.

Siegel is survived by her husband, and three children, 5-year-old Teagan, 3-year-old Wyatt and 2-year-old Oliver.
