The band that gave us the hits “This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race” and “Thnks fr th Mmrs” is breaking up.
Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump has confirmed that he is no longer with the band, as he is currently focusing on recording his LP as a solo artist.
Stump told Spin magazine, ”I’m not in Fall Out Boy right now. But one way or another, the band will always be around. Steven Tyler isn’t in Aerosmith anymore, but his gravestone will probably say something about Aerosmith. Whether we play again or not, I don’t know. If we do, it will be for the right reasons. If we don’t, it will also be for the right reasons.
His bandmates, guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley, have also announced that they have left the group via Twitter.
Trohman tweeted: “I just did interviews with Span Magazine, Rabbling Stone and Blunder about how much quitting I done. (sic)” and Hurley added: ”I quit too.”
Even before the three members confirmed the split, Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz had already admitted he “can’t imagine playing with Fall Out Boy again.”
A spokesperson for the band would not give any comment on possible future FOB plans.
