Family Photo Catches Thief

John Myers of New Jersey was a picture of a lucky man.

Though he lost his bag for a mere 15 minutes the probability of resolving cases of thefts like this almost always prompts the automatic, “There’s nothing we can do at this moment,” from the police.

After attending a friend’s wedding in Madison, Wisconsin, Myers set his new Canon camera for a family pic still dressed in their finery.

When the photo was done, he took the usual look-at.  In a while he noticed his bag missing and by instinct, tinged with wishful thinking, took a look at the pictures again.

Clues he did get right on the bat.  A man with his back turned away from the camera was going through his bag.  Most people would have put the bag beside the camera but Myers left it with their backs turned away from it.

Myers went to the police, who, by just having the color of clothing the theft has, had nabbed the man in 15 minutes still carrying the bag.

The suspect is Glenn R. Lambright.  He told police he found the bag abandoned.
