Farrah Fawcett died after a long battle with anal cancer at the age of 62. Ryan O’Neal and Alana Stewart were at her bedside during her final moments.
The actress and sex symbol of the 1970s has passed away at St. John’s hospital in the ICU. She was diagnosed with cancer last 2006. Over the years, her condition rapidly deteriorated despite medical treatments. The cancer spread to her liver.
Before her death in the Los Angeles hospital, Fawcett made a video journal that narrated her battle with cancer. It was titled as “Farrah’s Story.” The film included her trips abroad, in her search for a cure for her cancer.
Fawcett ensured that her story is told properly, the way she wanted it to be. The documentary aired on May 15 on NBC.
Ryan O’Neal supported the actress all throughout her treatments. He intended to marry Fawcett.
Fawcett is best known for her role in Charlie’s Angels, which catapulted her to stardom. Farrah Fawcett Foundation, which supports cancer research, was made in her honor.
