Fans of the comedy series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Louie” have something to be happy about!
FX has decided to renew both shows – “Sunny” gets two more seasons (its 8th and 9th) and will run until 2013, while “Louie” gets one more season.
FX president John Landgraf said of “Sunny,” “They literally had no experience writing, no experience directing. They literally made a pilot for $200 they shot in their back yard. They were so young and so willing to learn and we didn’t bring in showrunners over them. It was a good partnership. It started out so bare bones — [creator-actor] Rob McElhenney was a waiter and didn’t quit his job until season two.”
“Sunny” stars Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito. “Louie” stars standup comedian Louis C.K.
