A recent scientific expedition to the forests of Ecuador has uncovered twelve (12) new animal and plant species, one of the more notable ones being a new type of Glass Frog.
Glass Frogs are named such for their translucent skin, which makes their internal organs, especially the heart and liver, visible at a glance. While most Glass Frogs have lime green skin, the new Glass Frog, Hyalinobatrachium
pellucidum, is notable for having white-green translucent skin.
The discovery has noted four new amphibians, a salamander, a number of insects and plants.
Scientists hope that the expedition will yield great benefits, not only for scientific study, but also for the preservation and protection of the surrounding area. The area is believed to have an abundance of such species not yet discovered.
