A Greyhound bus on its way from Los Angeles to Sacramento in California crashed into an overturned SUV, killing 6 people and injuring at least 9 more.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened at around 2:15 in the morning. After slamming into an overturned Chevrolet Trailblazer in front of it, the bus crashed into a concrete divider, hit another vehicle, went off the right shoulder of the highway, went down a 15-foot slope and then hit a eucalyptus tree.
The bus driver named James Jewett died at the scene. Two passengers in the bus and three people in the SUV were also killed, said Dr. David Hadden, the Fresno County Coroner.
Officials have not yet released the identities of the other dead victims.
