While people clamor about the newest installment of the Harry Potter series opening in theaters soon, the cast has also been garnering (unwanted) attention because of unfortunate events.

Reports say that the British police has charged a Harry Potter film actor with producing a class B drug. Authorities found the teenage actor Jamie Waylett illegally growing ten cannabis plants at his house located in Kilburn, London.

Jamie Waylett plays the school overweight and dim-witted bully Vincent Crabbe in the Harry Potter films. Vincent Crabbe is one of Malfoy’s sidekicks.

Waylett will be appearing at the City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court next week.

The actor was charged by the police hours before the Harry Potter cast was set to walk up the red carpet for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince world premiere in London.

Waylett was arrested last April. By July 16, he will appear in court together with 20-year old John Innis, who was also charged with the possession of a knife and 11 packs of cannabis.
