The final chapter of the “Harry Potter” series, “Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ climbed higher than expected, grossing up to $169.2 million opening weekend domestically on Sunday.
It was a record-breaker for the “Harry Potter” finale, topping the previous best domestic debut of $158.4 million for “The Dark Knight.”
“Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ also had a record overseas opening with $307 million in 59 countries.
