Expect stores to be booked as copies of Hilary Duff’s debut novel finally arrive on shelves!

After signing on to write for Simon & Schuster last March, the 23-year-old former Disney star – now a newlywed fashion designer, will finally launch her coming-of-age novel entitled Elixir on October 12.

The book is said to feature adventures of a globe-trotting photojournalist named Clea Raymond, which Duff wrote with Elise Allen.

When asked, Duff said she wrote a book to “show you that anyone can write a book if they have an idea.” She also has plans of writing non-fiction on children coping with divorce, said to be released in 2012.

Duff will be promoting Elixir tomorrow morning on The Today Show at 7AM.
