Hitler’s body destroyed by KGB

A top member of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSS) has confirmed for the first time the actual events that led to the destruction of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, in an interview with Russia’s Interfax news agency.

Gen. Vasily Khristoforov, the head archivist of the FSS, basically the group that succeeded the former Soviet Union’s KGB, confirmed that the body of Adolf Hitler was burned in 1970 and thrown into a German river, all under the orders of the current KGB chief at that time.

Khristoforov revealed secret documents that show that former KGB chief Yuri Andropov ordered a top secret operation to dispose of the remains of Hitler, his wife Eva Braun and Nazi Germany Joseph Goebbels, along with his family. The documents, which had consent from the Soviet Communist Party leaders, revealed that Andropov’s actions were fueled by fears from the KGB and related leaderships that Hitler’s gravesite could manifest to be a place of worship for supporters of fascist ideas.

The operation, codenamed “The Archives” involved select KGB agents who went to Hitler’s grave site, dug up and exhumed his body, along with the other Nazi leaders, and carried out the act of burning and disposing of the bodies in 1970.

Adolf Hitler was buried on a Soviet military site in Magdeburg, Germany in February 21, 1946.
