The Hope for Haiti Now benefit album is now available over the iTunes Store, in conjunction with the recently concluded Hope for Haiti Now public telethon.
The benefit album consists of select tracks by various artists who performed in the Hope for Haiti Benefit Concert including Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Jay-Z, U2 and Bruce Springsteen. The album can be purchased over the iTunes Store at $7.99, with the full two-hour telecast of the Hope for Haiti Benefit Concert also available for $1.99. Individual artist performances can also be purchased over the iTunes store at an average of $0.99 a pop.
Apple is delegating proceeds of the album into funds intended for aid and support for Haiti earthquake disaster recovery efforts, and will help other organizations such as Red Cross, the Clinton-Bush Haiti Foundation and the Wyclef Yele Haiti foundation. Proceeds will augment earnings of George Cloonet’s Hope for Haiti Now public telethon, which garnered approximately $58 million.
