Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh and Russian president Dmitry Medvedev signed an agreement on Monday to stabilize and increase their defense cooperation.
The two leaders met in Moscow to also discuss the possibility of an increase in the atomic fuel exports of Russia to India.
Rusatom’s CEO, Sergei Kiriyenko, said his company is planning to build several nuclear power reactors in India, but did not divulge any more details.
India is one of the biggest customers of Russian weapons, and PM Manmohan Singh is on a two-day trip to place an order for helicopters, fighter planes and missiles, amounting to several billions of dollars.
Just recently, the Asian country was able to secure licenses and contracts for their T-90 tanks and BrahMos missiles.
The two nations are in the process of creating a modern supersonic fighter that is comparable to the United States Raptor stealth fighter.
