Indian living god in critical condition

Satya Sai Baba, known as the Indian “living god,” is currently on life support in a hospital in southern India, doctors said on Tuesday.

The 85-year-old spiritual guru was admitted to a hospital on March 28 due to lung and chest congestion, and his condition has deteriorated since then.

A health bulletin released by the Sri Satya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences on Tuesday said “he is on a ventilator and is receiving kidney dialysis,” and although his “vital systems are stable” and his “level of consciousness has considerably improved,” he “remains critical.”

Thousands of Sai Baba’s followers have started gathering in Puttaparthi, the location of his ashram in Andhra Pradesh, because of his condition.

Sai Baba gained many devotees for having performed miracles, including bringing people back to life, and having the ability to remember all his past lives. He is respected by many because of the things that he claims he has done and all the charity works his organization has been doing throughout the years. His image, however, was stained with accusations of pedophilia and sexual abuse, which he said were all not true.
