iPhone 4 Culprit Leaving Company

Mark Papermaster, the one we would forever remember as the Apple executive who brought about “antennagate”, is leaving the company.

The “antennagate” or “death grip” problem of iPhone’s latest model occurs when the phone is held in a certain way.  The wireless signal is muffled.  The problem was traced to its metal casing that houses its antennas.

Because of this Apple nightmare, the company announced free protective cases as this was said to remedy the problem.

Even with these measures the influential Consumer Reports Organization refused to recommend the iPhone 4.

Mark Papermaster is a newbie in Apple Inc. Though he was hired in 2008 he didn’t work in Apple until mid 2009 due to the lawsuit of IBM to stop his employment with Apple for breach of contract.

In IBM, Papermaster was the VP of the blade server development unit.  He is called in the company as the “top expert in ‘Power’ architecture and technology”.

Bob Mansfield, Apple’s senior vie president of Macintosh hardware engineering, would take over Papermaster’s responsibilities.
