James Frey, author of the controversial bestseller “A Million Little Pieces,” again stirred the publishing world on Monday with the announcement of a release of a new religious novel.
“The Final Testament of the Holy Bible” tells the story of a second coming of Jesus Christ, who will be in the form of Ben Jones, whose character is a hard-drinking and dope-smoking man living in a dirty apartment who also has sex with women and men.
According to Reuters, his story is told through the point-of-views of family, friends and followers, and it looks at questions of faith and Christianity in today’s modern world.
Frey also announced that he will be releasing his work via an art gallery and has already teamed with with New York-based Gagosian Gallery to distribute his new novel.
The book will be released on the Christian holy day of Good Friday, April 22, at the Gagosian Shop in New York and online at various websites, where a digital version will be available for iPads and other devices.
