Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez has reportedly signed a deal to become one of the permanent judges on the reality TV singing competition “American Idol,” PEOPLE reported.
The news came out after Ellen DeGeneres announced that she was quitting the show. According to DeGeneres, her decision to leave was not an easy one. She said, “It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for.”
An insider claims that Benny Medina, Lopez’s manager, helped close the deal between his talent and the hit television show. Lopez, 41, was a former guest mentor to the Idol contestants during the show’s 6th season Latin night in 2007.
Fox has not made any comment on whether Lopez is really going to be on the show or not.
