“Survivor: Palau” fourth-place finisher Jennifer Lyon died at her Oregon home yesterday after battling with breast cancer for years. She was 37.
In 2005, she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, then underwent a double mastectomy and chemotherapy.
The 37-year-old did an interview with US Weekly in 2005 and talked about her condition: “I was completely shocked and overwhelmed. I felt fine that day; in fact, I’ve been healthy my entire life.”
“Survivor: Palau” was the tenth season of the series, in which fire fighter Tom Westman brought home the one million dollars. When it was down to four, Jen allied with Tom during the tribal council. The vote was split between her and Ian, so a fire-building challenge was done to determine who should go. Ian won, and Jen finished fourth.
