Kara DioGuardi Not a Judge Anymore

Reports are coming out that the yearly contract of American singer-songwriter, record producer, music publisher, A&R executive, composer and TV personality Kara DioGuardi wasn’t renewed.

Having been in American Idol for the last two seasons the only change was DioGuardi was finally giving tips helpful to the contestants.  But ratings-wise her impeccable qualifications didn’t do much.  The same thing goes to Ellen DeGeneres’ quirky observations.

Television viewers see a lackluster show bogged down by four judges who lacked chemistry and the you-hear-it-once-and-you-hear-it-three-more-times type of judging.

Insiders are attributing the lackluster seasons of the show to the departure of Nigel Lythgoe, a producer who left in 2008 to concentrate on So You Think You Can Dance.  However, he’d be back to do a “clean up”.

The new judges are hopefully to be announced on Monday, at the Television Critics Association Event.

Expected names to roundup the 3 judge panel would be either:  Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Harry Connick, Jr., Justin Timberlake or Chris Isaak and even Courtney Love.

Elton John was reportedly offered but “he was asking for too much money and has too many touring commitments he can’t get out of” according to Deadline Hollywood.
