Katie Couric has ended her run as “CBS Evening News” anchor after nearly five years, The Associated Press reports.
“Thank you so much for coming along with me on this incredible journey,” she said in her last evening newscast on Thursday.
Couric became the first woman to be sole anchor of a network evening newscast in 2006. She hasn’t announced her plans but she’s negotiating with ABC about a daytime talk show.
