“American Idol” season 5 alum Kellie Pickler is now engaged to her songwriter boyfriend Kyle Jacobs.

The 23-year-old country singer tweeted Wednesday morning, “Yes, it’s true. Can’t wait to say ‘I DO!’”

Jacobs reportedly proposed to her at sunset while on a beach in Florida. It was an exciting, special and sad day as it was also Pickler’s late grandma’s birthday. “My whole world changed. We both feel like we got my grandmother’s blessing,” Pickler told PEOLE.

The couple met about 2 ½ years ago through friends.

Pickler becomes the third country singer-bride-to-be this year, after Miranda Lambert and fellow former “American Idol” contestant Carrie Underwood.

“We’re all just happy for each other. I’m sure we’ll be having some girl talk and we’ll share ideas. We just keep joking about how there must be something in the water!” she said.
