U.S. life expectancy has hit another all-time high, surpassing 78 years, according to a report released Wednesday.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, babies born in 2009 can live until the estimate of 78 years and 2 months.
Infant mortality rate also hit a record low of 6.42 deaths per 1,000 live births, dropping three percent from 2008.
U.S. life expectancy has been increasing since the 1940s, though some years it held steady and temporarily dropped a couple of times.
