Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao entered the MGM Grand lobby in Las Vegas amidst deafening cheers and applause from the crowd and walked his way down the red carpet up to a makeshift ring decorated with a statue of a golden lion, a welcome that is fit for a king.
“I am surprised and happy that a lot of people came [to welcome me],” Pacquiao said as he beamed at his admirers, while reporters from all over the world flocked around him to get good shots at this premiere fighter.
The Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto bout is just a few days away, and boxing fans are excited to see if the reigning pound-for-pound king could snatch another world title to add to his six different division weight belts. If that happens, Pacman will go down in history as the first ever boxer to accomplish such a feat.
The long-awaited welterweight title match is to be held at the MGM Grand’s garden Arena on November 15.
