American television actress Mariska Hargitay and her husband Peter Hermann have adopted a baby girl!

The news was confirmed by the “Law & Order: SVU” actress’ rep Leslie Sloane. She told UsMagazine.com, “”The couple are overjoyed by the wonder of their new daughter. Her brother, August, is thrilled to have the sister he’s always wanted.”

The couple named their daughter Amaya Josephine, who was born about a week ago.

Hargitay and Hermann have been married since 2004.
