McDonald’s announced Monday that it is looking to hire 50,000 people in a single day.
The plan is scheduled on April 19 and will include job openings for different positions, including full-time and part-time management and crew members.
Jan Fields, president of McDonald’s USA, said, “We’re excited to offer 50,000 new jobs, all across America, all in one day.”
She added that the new hires will raise the U.S. workforce’s level from 650,000 to 700,000. They will also receive an average pay of $8.30/hour, which is over a dollar more than the federal minimum wage of $7.25/hour.
At present, the fastfood chain has 14,000 branches across the U.S.
